IN THE OFF SEASON: A CHECK-IN WITH THE PLAYERS
Off season is a time of rest, recovery and relaxation for the players, but a time of curiosity and anticipation for the fans. That’s never truer than in the AHL, where players move around frequently, and fans anxiously await that final roster announcement at the crest of the season’s beginning.
To cure some of that feeling, we asked the confirmed Monsters players, Roman Ahcan and Tate Singleton, what they’ve been up to since the season ended.
For Ahcan, the off season has been one full of fishing, friends and family. He’s taken this summer to reconnect in his home state of Minnesota and to get out on the water as often as possible before he returns to Cleveland this fall.
If he’s not out on the lake, he can be found on the green with his friends aiming for that perfect hole-in-one.
However, that back-to-season excitement has started to kick in! For Ahcan, he’s most excited to continue building strong relationships with his teammates while chasing a Calder Cup Championship together.
For Singleton, the summer has seen all sorts of excitement. Despite being a little “salty” about how the season ended, Singleton has packed this summer with relaxation and time with family and friends.
A highlight of his summer was the opportunity to be the best man in his best friend’s wedding. He’s also been traveling to Louisville, Kentucky to watch his girlfriend take on her soccer season.
A critical element to a good off season? Friendly competition. Singleton has gone head-to-head with Blue Jackets Forward Riley Bezeau this summer to see who can catch the biggest fish!
Heading into next season, Singleton is most looking forward to returning to Cleveland for another round of Monsters hockey and to the sound of Loudville erupting in a way only the best fans in the league can make happen.
With more players and more hockey to come, this off season is sure to be one for the books. Check out the player photos HERE!
