Game Preview: Monsters vs Griffins 12/06

In the first of eight meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Grand Rapids Griffins, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings, on Monday with full coverage, live from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, underway at 7:00 pm on FOX Sports 1350 AM “The Gambler”, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

 

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 4-5 home loss to the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 9-5-2-3 on the season. With a .605 points percentage, the Monsters currently rank third in the North Division standings and fifth in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is currently led in scoring by D Jake Christiansen (5-13-18), C Brendan Gaunce (7-8-15), and LW Tyler Angle (2-13-15).

 

GRIFFINS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 6-2 home win over the Rockford IceHogs on Saturday, the Grand Rapids Griffins enter tonight’s game at 8-8-2-1 on the season. With a .500 points percentage, the Griffins currently rank fourth in the Central Division standings and ninth in the Western Conference. Grand Rapids is currently led in scoring by LW Taro Hirose (4-14-18), C Kyle Criscuolo (8-7-15), and LW Jonatan Berggren (7-8-15).

 

REGULAR-SEASON SERIES: Monday marks the first of eight meetings between the Monsters and Griffins this season and the first of four games between the two clubs at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse this year.
