The Monsters announced Monday that the Blue Jackets recalled forward Dmitri Voronkov from the Monsters. In four appearances for Cleveland this season, Voronkov logged 0-1-1 with two penalty minutes in the first North American action of his professional career.

A 6’5”, 240 lb. left-shooting native of Angarsk, Russia, Voronkov, 23, was originally selected by Columbus in the fourth round (114th overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. In 182 career appearances for Ak-Bars Kazan in Russia’s KHL spanning parts of five seasons from 2018-23, Voronkov posted 37-37-74 with 157 penalty minutes and a +29 rating. Voronkov helped Russia claim Silver Medals at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and 2019-20 IIHF U20 World Junior Championships, and represented his home country at the 2020-21 IIHF World Championship.
