Stefan Matteau enters his first season as Assistant Coach with the Cleveland Monsters in 2025–26, following the conclusion of his playing career with the organization. Matteau spent parts of three seasons with the Monsters, including serving as team captain for the 2024–25 season. He was selected 29th overall in the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils.

Over his professional career, Matteau played 92 NHL games with the New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens, Vegas Golden Knights, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Colorado Avalanche. In addition to his NHL experience, he saw significant AHL action with teams such as the Cleveland Monsters and Colorado Eagles, and also competed in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Matteau now joins the Monsters coaching staff, bringing his professional hockey experience to the team’s bench.
