The AHL’s Cleveland Monsters announced Thursday that the team will tee up each remaining weekend home broadcast during the regular season with the introduction of “Monsters Faceoff Live,” a 30-minute pregame radio show hosted by Monsters Digital Content Coordinator Nick Blaesser airing on the team’s flagship station SportsRadio 99.1 powered by Rock Entertainment Group, with select shows simulcast on WTAM 1100.

“Monsters Faceoff Live is a truly exciting, big-league addition to Monsters game nights for our passionate, devoted fans,” said Monsters Director of Broadcasting and play-by-play voice Tony Brown on Thursday. “As a former USHL broadcast voice, Nick Blaesser is a force on the air and his analysis and sensibility will be the perfect appetizer for Monsters fans looking to get up to speed prior to puck drop.”

During each show, Blaesser will set the scene for the opening draw with player and coach interviews, relevant standings and statistical information, and in-depth reporting, including projected lineups and up-to-the-second injury updates. The show will also provide fans information on upcoming game promotions, theme nights and other key franchise information. Monsters Faceoff Live will continue beyond the bounds of the regular season and will air prior to every potential Monsters game, home and away, during the Calder Cup Playoffs.
