Monsters return home to host annual Pride Night on Tuesday versus Phantoms
Jan 16, 2023The Cleveland Monsters will host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for Pride Night on Tuesday, January 17, and Blue Jackets Night on Wednesday, January 18, with both games beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The Monsters will welcome the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to celebrate the team’s third annual Pride Night and highlight the organizational outreach between all properties of Rock Entertainment Group.
Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse’s curtain wall will light up in the colors of the Pride Flag along with Pride inclusions in the Power Portal and throughout the inside of the arena. On the ice, the Monsters and Phantoms will sport specialty Pride Tape on their hockey while the night’s 50/50 raffle will benefit LGBTQ+ Allies Lake County whose mission is to foster a safe place for the LGBTQ+ community in Lake County through advocacy, compassion, education, and services. Tickets for 50/50 are available both in person and online here.
The ceremonial puck drop will spotlight ChrisTina Reed, Manager of LGBTQ+ Gender Care programs at University Hospitals, and the work they do alongside their unit to enhance the physical and emotional well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals. The LGBTQ+ Gender Care Unit provides a wide range of coordinated services that promote health and wellness, help eliminate the health care disparities experienced by this population and participate in research and promoting education related to gender and sexual diversity.
The Monsters will also host guests from Black Space Inc., META Center Inc., PFLAG and PLEXUS as the spotlighted organizations at Tuesday’s game. Additionally, Pride Night will showcase the Cavaliers organization Team Member Resource Group (TMRG) Pride in the Land. TMRGs are team member led groups that provide support, mentoring, networking, and a platform for voicing the ideas and opinions of team members representing specific dimensions of diversity. Pride in the Land’s mission is to create an open and active bridge between all team members at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and the LGBTQ+ community through ongoing education and interactive engagements.
The Monsters Team Shop will offer the Monsters Pride Collection as the Item of the Game that includes a Tee, Hoodie, and Long Sleeve Shirt. Items from the Monsters Pride Collection will be available both in store and at MonstersTeamShop.com while supplies last.
Proceeds from the Monsters Community Foundation auctions and Monsters Pride Collection will benefit the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland, whose mission is to enrich the lives of the diverse LGBTQ+ community through advocacy, support, education, and celebration.
