BLUE JACKETS REASSIGN DEFENSEMAN CHARLIE ELICK TO MONSTERS
The AHL’s Cleveland Monsters announced Wednesday that the Blue Jackets reassigned defenseman Charlie Elick to the Monsters from the WHL’s Tri-City Americans. In 63 appearances for Tri-City this season, Elick posted 6-14-20 with 46 penalty minutes.
A 6’3”, 206 lb. right-shooting native of Villach, Austria, Elick, 20, was selected by Columbus in the second round (36th overall) of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Blue Jackets March 26, 2025 through the 2027-28 season. In 259 career WHL appearances for the Brandon Wheat Kings and Tri-City spanning parts of five seasons from 2021-26, Elick posted 16-59-75 with 210 penalty minutes.
