About Jarkko
Jarkko Ruutu is entering his fourth season with the Cleveland Monsters as Development Coach. Ruutu joined the Columbus Blue Jackets organization in 2015 as the club’s first European development coach and works with prospects in both North America and Europe.
Ruutu played 652 NHL games over a 10-year career with the Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa Senators, and Anaheim Ducks, recording 142 points and 1,078 penalty minutes. He also played 318 games in Finland’s Liiga with HIFK and Jokerit, and finished his playing career in Switzerland.
Ruutu represented Finland at three Olympic Games and multiple IIHF World Championships. He was selected by Vancouver in the third round (68th overall) of the 1998 NHL Draft and began his professional career in 1996. Ruutu is a native of Vantaa, Finland.
