Monsters Hold Youth Hockey Clinic

The Lake Erie Monsters recently held their third annual summer hockey clinic. It was a great time by all that were involved. It's coordinated by Monsters Youth Hockey Specialist Ben Shank, who also coordinates games and youth hockey events here at The Q. Ben is involved in anything and everything involving youth hockey with the Monsters.

As for the hockey clinic, it was held over two days in August at two different locations. Day one featured two sessions at The Pond in Chagrin Falls. The turnout was great for the first day and this year peewee and bantam players were able to take part in the clinic. Mites and squirts were also involved in both days of the clinic.

Day two of the clinic was held at Hoover Arena in Strongsville, home of the Monsters training facility. Players took part in one hour of on-ice instruction from Cleveland hockey legend Jock Callander, Ben Shank, Monsters in-arena host Olivier Sedra and Nick Prost, the Monsters graphic designer.

The youngsters were then treated to a tour of the Monsters locker room and the rest of the training facility before they finished with some training tips on how to stay in top shape for hockey.

Below are the links for the two videos. One is of the youngsters on the ice and the other is an interview that Monsters Broadcaster Ben Holden did with Ben Shank after the second day of camp was completed.
