Monsters Take on Marlies for the Third Game in Three Days

In the seventh of eight meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Toronto Marlies, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, on Saturday with full coverage, live from Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, ON, underway at 5:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 4-1 home win over the Laval Rocket on Friday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 27-24-6-1 on the season. With 61 points, the Monsters currently rank sixth in the AHL’s North Division standings and 11th in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by C Zac Dalpe (20-17-37), C Mark Letestu (15-19-34) and LW Nathan Gerbe (10-22-32).

MARLIES PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 2-3 home loss to the Manitoba Moose on Wednesday, the Toronto Marlies enter tonight’s game at 29-19-6-3 on the season. With 67 points, the Marlies currently rank third in the AHL’s North Division standings and sixth in the Eastern Conference. Toronto is led in scoring by RW Jeremy Bracco (15-41-56), C Chris Mueller (24-27-51) and D Calle Rosen (7-37-44).

SEASON SERIES: Saturday marks the seventh of eight meetings between the Monsters and Marlies this season and the third of four clashes between the two clubs at Coca-Cola Coliseum this year. So far this season, Cleveland shows a record of 4-0-2-0 vs. Toronto overall with a +3 goal differential (29/26) and the Monsters are 2-0-0-0 vs. the Marlies on the road this season with a +3 goal differential (7/4).
