Monsters Take on Laval on the Road

In the third of eight meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Laval Rocket, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens, on Friday with full coverage, live from Place Bell in Laval, QC, underway at 7:30 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 4-5 road loss to the Binghamton Devils on Saturday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 18-15-4-1 on the season. With 41 points, the Monsters currently rank sixth in the AHL’s North Division standings and 12th in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by LW Nathan Gerbe (9-20-29), C Zac Dalpe (15-13-28) and C Alex Broadhurst (7-17-24).

ROCKET PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 4-2 home win over the Belleville Senators on Wednesday, the Laval Rocket enter tonight’s game at 17-17-3-3 on the season. With 40 points, the Rocket currently rank seventh in the AHL’s North Division standings and 14th in the Eastern Conference. Laval is led in scoring by C Alex Belzile (8-22-30), C Byron Froese (12-14-26) and C Jake Evans (10-16-26).

SEASON SERIES: Friday marks the third of eight meetings between the Monsters and Rocket this season and the first of four tilts between the two teams at Place Bell this year. Cleveland shows a 1-1-0-0 record vs. Laval both overall and at home with a -2 goal differential (5/7) so far this season.
