Monsters Look to Keep Momentum Going Against Senators at Home

In the seventh of eight meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Belleville Senators, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, on Friday with full coverage, live from The Q, underway at 7:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 2-1 home win over the Belleville Senators on Thursday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 28-25-6-1 on the season. With 63 points, the Monsters currently rank sixth in the AHL’s North Division standings and 11th in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by C Zac Dalpe (21-17-38), C Mark Letestu (15-20-35) and LW Nathan Gerbe (10-22-32).

SENATORS PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 1-2 road loss to the Cleveland Monsters on Thursday, the Belleville Senators enter tonight’s game at 30-24-3-4 on the season. With 67 points, the Senators currently rank fifth in the AHL’s North Division standings and ninth in the Eastern Conference. Belleville is led in scoring by RW Drake Batherson (19-33-52), RW Jack Rodewald (19-21-40) and C Logan Brown (12-23-35).

SEASON SERIES: Thursday marks the sevnth of eight meetings between the Monsters and Senators this season and the fourth of four clashes between the two clubs at The Q this year. So far this season, Cleveland shows a record of 4-2-0-0 vs. Belleville overall with a +3 goal differential (17/14) and the Monsters are 3-0-0-0 vs. the Senators at home this season with a +5 goal differential 11/6).

  • GREETINGS GREG: Cleveland signed forward Greg Wolfe to a 25-game professional tryout (PTO) contract on Friday. A former Michigan State Spartan, Wolfe appeared in two games for the AHL’s Binghamton Devils this season (coincidentally both vs. the Monsters) and added 18-30-48 with 24 penalty minutes and a -2 rating in 55 appearances for the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye this year.
  • KEVIN’S CRUISIN’: Cleveland C Kevin Stenlund has four points to his credit (2G, 2A) in his past four appearances for the Monsters.
