Monsters Look for the Come Back in Charlotte

In the second of four meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Charlotte Checkers, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, on Wednesday with full coverage, live from Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, NC, underway at 7:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 1-3 road loss to the Charlotte Checkers on Tuesday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 21-20-4-1 on the season. With 47 points, the Monsters currently rank fifth in the AHL’s North Division standings and 12th in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by LW Nathan Gerbe (10-22-32), C Zac Dalpe (15-14-29) and C Alex Broadhurst (8-21-29).

CHECKERS PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 3-1 home win over the Cleveland Monsters on Tuesday, the Charlotte Checkers enter tonight’s game at 32-11-6-0 on the season. With 70 points, the Checkers currently rank first in the AHL’s Atlantic Division standings and first in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte is led in scoring by C Andrew Poturalski (18-29-47), C Aleksi Saarela (16-20-36) and C Janne Kuokkanen (11-20-31).

SEASON SERIES: Wednesday marks the second of four meetings between the Monsters and Checkers this season and the second of two clashes between the two clubs at Bojangles Coliseum this year. Cleveland is 0-1-0-0 both overall and on the road vs. the Checkers with a -2 goal differential (1/3).
