Monsters Hit the Road, Clash with Penguins

In the fourth of four meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins, on Friday with full coverage, live from Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, PA, underway at 7:05 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 4-3 home overtime win over the Chicago Wolves on Saturday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 21-17-4-1 on the season. With 47 points, the Monsters currently rank fifth in the AHL’s North Division standings and 11th in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by LW Nathan Gerbe (10-21-31), C Zac Dalpe (15-14-29) and C Alex Broadhurst (8-19-27).

PENGUINS PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 5-4 road overtime win over the Binghamton Devils on Saturday, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins enter tonight’s game at 22-18-4-1 on the season. With 49 points, the Penguins currently rank sixth in the AHL’s Atlantic Division standings and tenth in the Eastern Conference. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is led in scoring by D Ethan Prow (13-19-32), LW Adam Johnson (14-15-29) and C Joseph Blandisi (10-15-25).

SEASON SERIES: Friday marks the fourth of four clashes between the Monsters and Penguins this season and the second of two games between the two teams at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza this year.
