Monsters Go Head to Head with Griffins at Home

In the third of four meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Grand Rapids Griffins, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings, on Friday with full coverage, live from The Q, underway at 7:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 0-4 home loss to the Rochester Americans on Wednesday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 16-11-4-0 on the season. With 36 points, the Monsters currently rank third in the AHL’s North Division standings and sixth in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by C Zac Dalpe (14-13-27), LW Nathan Gerbe (7-16-23) and LW Eric Robinson (10-9-19).

GRIFFINS PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 3-1 road win over the Manitoba Moose on Saturday, the Grand Rapids Griffins enter tonight’s game at 17-11-2-2 on the season. With 38 points, the Griffins currently rank third in the AHL’s Central Division standings and fourth in the Western Conference. Grand Rapids is led in scoring by LW Chris Terry (20-12-32), RW Matt Puempel (13-11-24) and C Turner Elson (10-14-24).

SEASON SERIES: Friday marks the third of four meetings between the Monsters and Griffins this season and the second of two tilts between the two teams at The Q this year. Cleveland shows a -2 goal differential vs. Grand Rapids overall this season (7/9) and a -4 goal differential at home (4/8).
