Monsters Clash with the Crunch for the Final Time this Season

In the fourth of four meetings between the two teams this season, the Cleveland Monsters, affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, drop the puck vs. the Syracuse Crunch, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning, on Saturday with full coverage, live from Onondaga County War Memorial Arena in Syracuse, NY, underway at 7:00 pm on Alt 99.1, AHLTV and the Monsters Hockey Network.

MONSTERS PRE-SCOUT: Following a 2-7 road loss to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday, the Cleveland Monsters enter tonight’s game at 21-18-4-1 on the season. With 47 points, the Monsters currently rank fifth in the AHL’s North Division standings and 11th in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is led in scoring by LW Nathan Gerbe (10-22-32), C Zac Dalpe (15-14-29) and C Alex Broadhurst (8-20-28).

CRUNCH PRE-SCOUT: In the wake of a 4-0 home win over the Utica Comets on Friday, the Syracuse Crunch enter tonight’s game at 26-13-2-1 on the season. With 55 points, the Crunch currently rank second in the AHL’s North Division standings and third in the Eastern Conference. Syracuse is led in scoring by C Carter Verhaeghe (21-30-51), RW Cory Conacher (15-29-44) and C Alex Barre-Boulet (21-19-40).

SEASON SERIES: Saturday marks the fourth of four clashes between the Monsters and Crunch this season and the second of two games between the two teams at Onondaga County War Memorial Arena this year. So far this season, Cleveland is 2-1-0-0 overall vs. Syracuse with an even goal differential (11/11) and 1-0-0-0 vs. the Crunch on the road with a +1 goal differential (4/3).
